KING ARTHURAVAILABLE TO OWN ON DVD AND VIDEO FROM 29th NOVEMBER 2004DIRECTOR’S CUT WITH 18 CERTIFICATE ALSO AVAILABLE AS A SEPARATE DISC Thrilling adventure, edge-of-your-seat action and historical grandeur come together in this unique look at one of the greatest legends ever told. November 29th sees a DVD first, as the sword-clashing epic, KING ARTHUR, starring British favourites Clive Owen and Kiera Knightley, is out to own on two separate extras filled DVDs. The family version, ideal for all to enjoy this Christmas is being released alongside a previously unseen Director’s Cut of the film with an 18 certificate. From legendary producer Jerry Bruckheimer (Pirates of the Caribbean, Pearl Harbor), acclaimed director Antoine Fuqua (Training Day) and Oscar® winning screenwriter David Franzoni (Gladiator) this spectacular action adventure is a must-own tale of bravery, romance and one man’s discovery of his true identity. A fine, mainly British cast is led by Clive Owen (Gosford Park, Bourne Identity), who is perfect as the dark and stormy knight and warlord, Arthur. Keira Knightley (Pirates of the Caribbean, Love Actually) shines as the gorgeous Guinevere. No refined lady of the court, this Guievere is a born fighter, proving her skills on the battlefield. Ioan Gruffudd’s (Hornblower) passionate and cocky Lancelot is strong as Arthur’s surly side-kick and Ray Winstone (Sexy Beast, Cold Mountain) is hilarious as rough veteran Bors, a fierce fighter with a wicked sense of humour. Arthur (Owen), a half-British, half-Roman commander is the heroic leader of a brave team of Sarmatian knights. Bound to protect the Roman Empire in Britain by an ancient law, his knights include Lancelot (Gruffudd) and Bors (Winstone). As the sun sets on the Roman Empire, the Romans offer the Knights of the Round Table their freedom if they agree to go on one last mission. Arthur and his knights are sent deep into enemy territory on a quest of adventure as they are forced to confront their traditional enemy - Merlin (Dillane) and his indigenous guerrilla armies. The knights soon discover that far from being sworn enemies, these guerrillas are the soul of Britain, devastated by generations of Roman rule. Now, with Rome gone, the invading Saxons led by Cerdic (Stellan Skarsgard) and his son Cynric (Til Schweiger) threaten to conquer all. Under the guidance of the shaman, Merlin and the beautiful, courageous Guinevere (Knightley), Arthur struggles with his lifelong love of Rome to 'become a leader in this land' and to change the face of history. This fascinating re-telling of the classic myth is available in two highly collectable versions. The 12 certified DVD gives us a fresh look at the Camelot legend the whole family can experience, whilst the never seen before Director’s Cut, certified 18, features an all action look at the bloody savagery of the ancient battlefield - with the full gritty glory of extended battle scenes included within the additional 17 minute run time. DTS sound is exclusively included on the Director’s Cut DVD. The two DVDs will be available to buy separately. The 12 certified theatrical version of the film will only be available on VHS. Don’t miss out on owning this powerful adventure steeped in heritage this Christmas. Whichever version you choose - you will be thrilled by this spectacular legend again and again.
