ALL EIGHT HALLOWEEN FILMS TOGETHER ON DTuesday 31st of August 2004 Generally considered to be the granddaddy of the slasher movie genre, in 1978 the critically acclaimed and publicly worshipped JOHN CARPENTER'S HALLOWEEN literally changed the face of horror cinema. An unapologetic homage to Hitchcock's 1960 classic Psycho, it was originally conceived by Bob Clark and John Carpenter as a sequel to Clark's little-seen 1974 gem Black Christmas. Shot in 21 days, on a budget of $300,000, HALLOWEEN became the highest-grossing independent movie of its day, eventually taking over $50 million at the box office.
