The multi award-winning horror comedy BUBBA HO-TEP hits UK cinemas on 8th October 2004 riding a wave of acclaim. Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead Trilogy; Spiderman 2) gives an inspired performance for the ages as Elvis Presley in this totally unique, relentlessly quirky and utterly charming movie from director Don Coscarelli (Phantasm; The Beastmaster).

Based on the short story by cult author Joe R. Lansdale, BUBBA HO-TEP tells the true story of what really became of Elvis Presley after his supposed death in August 1977.

Hoping to find a new and better life away from the media spotlight, the King of Rock 'n' Roll switches identities with an Elvis impersonator, only to see any possibility of switching back go up in flames in a freak barbeque accident. Jump to the present day and Elvis (Bruce Campbell) is alive and, apart from a rather sensitive personal ailment, fairly well, residing in a rest home for the elderly in Mud Creek, East Texas. But Elvis's relatively idyllic existence is disrupted when the home is visited by an evil Egyptian mummy back from the dead and intent on sucking out the souls of the rest home's residents. Refusing to take this threat lying down, Elvis teams up with fellow resident Jack (Ossie Davis), who believes himself to be former President John F. Kennedy, and the pair go head-to-head in a deadly battle against the ancient supernatural evil that is BUBBA HO-TEP.

Bruce Campbell is remarkable as Elvis, giving a show-stopping and career-defining performance that has been described by both the Hollywood Reporter and Daily Variety as one of the best screen interpretations of the King to date. BUBBA HO-TEP is one of the most original and touching genre films you will ever see, and is undoubtedly destined to become the cult smash hit of the year.

The winner of numerous awards, including the 2004 Bram Stoker Award for Best Screenplay and the Best Actor and Best Screenplay Awards at the US Comedy Arts Film Festival, BUBBA HO-TEP was also voted the Best Independent Film of the Year by readers of Fangoria Magazine.
