ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK SPECIAL EDITION

John Carpenter’s cult classic gets the special edition treatment with the 17 October 2005 Momentum Pictures’ DVD release of ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK. This eagerly anticipated tour de force from the director of Halloween and The Thing is jammed packed with a host of enticing extras, ensuring this is a must have purchase for all those ready and eager film fans.

Faced with a crime wave spiralling out of control, the US government turns Manhattan into a gargantuan penal colony, surrounded by armed police and chock-full of brutal inmates. Euthanasia is offered as an alternative to life inside the walls and only the toughest live to see another day, once the gates have closed.

Air Force One crash-lands in Manhatten and the government will do anything to get the US President out alive. The only man for the job is Snake Plissken (Played by Kurk Russell), a highly dangerous ex-commando doing time for multiple murders. The deal is simple: Get the Head of State out of New York, get released from the island.

To ensure Snakes compliance the government implants an explosive device implanted in his neck, set to go off in 24 hours if the job doesn’t get done.
