Martin Freeman leads a star-studded cast of wayward travellers in this zany and hilarious adaptation of Douglas Adams’ cult classic. The film retains its dry British humour through the droll, omnipotent narration courtesy of Stephen Fry, while Alan Rickman provides the unmistakable voice of Marvin – the paranoid android. Freeman shines as the befuddled Arthur Dent, a quintessential Englishman, perpetually confused and unwittingly turned into an intergalactic traveller and Sam Rockwell is superb as the cocky and ridiculous President of the Universe, Zaphod Beeblebrox. With a quirky and wacky storyline, including green dressing gowns, a talking guidebook which serves as the repository of all knowledge, aliens who kill with poetry, no tea whatsoever and the search for the ultimate question to life, the universe and everything, The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy is the ingenious, fun-filled action comedy of the year.
