Amazon.co.uk Review
For those who found 2004's Aliens vs. Predator too lightweight in the gore-and-guns department, Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem offers a marked improvement in both categories, as well as a respectable amount of rumbles between the title extraterrestrials. Set in the 21st century (which predates the story to all of the Alien features), Requiem sends a crippled Predator ship crashing to Earth in a small Colorado town; unbeknownst to the locals, the craft is loaded with H.R. Giger's insectoid monsters, which make quick work of most of the population. As the human cast is slowly whittled to a few hardy (if unmemorable) souls, a Predator warrior also arrives to complicate matters and do battle with the Aliens, as well as a ferocious Alien-Predator hybrid (dubbed a Predalien by the sci-fi and horror press). Visual-effects designers and music-video helmers The Strause Brothers (who make their feature directorial debut here) keep the action on frantic throughout, which is wise, since the dialogue and characters are threadbare at best; that should matter little to teenage male viewers, who are inarguably the film's key audience. Fans of the Alien franchise, however, may find the offhanded nod to the series' mythology given during the finale its sole saving grace. --Paul Gaita, Amazon.com

The 2nd AVP

Not a bad film for those who like to escape and imagine they are in the film but not the best to marry anyones collection of Aliens and Predator together on a bookshelf. AVP 1 was the best. AVP 2 looks as though the budget was slashed in half and the storyline lacked a little depth. Still quite entertaining though and well worth the watch.
Terrifyingly awful

I liked the first two Predator films, the first one because it was new, and the action and suspense was great. The second one because setting the alien loose in the American streets gave it something new, and Danny Glover was a good, sarcastic hero.
This film is rubbish. I couldn't even watch it til the end, it was that bad. The dialogue, the "characters" (I hesitate to use the word because none of them have any) were poor. There was even a hint of romance between two of the characters. I mean let's face it, your town is being ripped apart by a powerful, evil alien, but you still find time for love right?
The action scenes could have been the saving grace. Can you guess my answer?
If anybody gives you this film, turn around and keep on running away, as if the Predator himself was on your case.
Good, but definately not great

AVP2 is a classic example of film makers cashing in on a big brand (or two in this case). Although the story line is at most shocking, the action scenes are actually pretty good.
Doesn't Even Deserve One Star.

Being a huge fan of Alien, Aliens and Predator (also Predator 2 if I'm honest), I bought this to complete my collection. I have seen some utter rubbish in my time but this takes the biscuit. To say that the characterisation and acting are one dimensional would be doing this car crash of a film a massive favour. Plot holes as big as Jupiter: check. Awful acting: check. Dialogue that a two year old would shake from his etch-a-sketch: check. This film has it all!
For the love of all that is holy, throw your money down the drain rather than making the mistake I did by buying this as the memory of having seen it does not wash away.
