An insightful look at women with ADHD
Review date: 2010-07-26 Rating: 10 out of 10
From the very moment I opened the book I was instantly able to identify with the women that the author was writing about. Sari Solden captures the ups and downs, trials and tribulations and amazing creativity of ADHD sufferers. She provides answers to so many questions and offers real advice and suggestions to come to terms with the condition. The self-screening tool and questionnaire is particularly relevent to Women who may or may not have ADHD. I purchased this book, due to suggestions that I may have ADD or ADHD, to gain more information about ADHD. For the first time in my life I felt that someone knew me or at least knew lots of women who live their lives struggling in many aspects. A tearful and joyful ride that provides hope for a brighter future knowing that you have ADHD. It also offers suggestions for making adjustments to work and home life in constructive ways. Brilliant and informative.

Eureka!
Review date: 2003-12-02 Rating: 10 out of 10
I am a woman of 47 years. I have been investigated over 20+ years for chronic fatigue and tendency to depression among other symptoms. But I believe that this is me - a woman holding it together with huge compensations - a woman struggling to live with ADD with Hypoactivity. Now that this book has helped me to understand myself and others I am off to read as much as I can and have the self belief to take it up with my physician again. This book is a must for anyone who suspects they may have ADD/ADHD or who know someone else who has.
Read it for a friend or relative. Now I understand Mom.

I read to book at the request of a good friend diagnosed with ADD. I was skeptical at first, but the book clearly outlines the problems without being sensationalistic or overly sympathic. I can see that I need to change my behavior. In some ways I was putting my friend in an untenable situation.
Very Imformative and easy to read!

Having a son recently diagnosed with ADHD I started doing some research. The more I read the more I identified with the ADHD profile. This book is a wonderful resource specifically addressing the issues that face women with ADHD.I would highly recommend this book for any woman diagnosed or who thinks she has ADD/ADHD!
2 paragraphs for single women? PLEASE! Discouraging!

Barely a shred of help for single low income women whose budget cannot afford paid coaches. A friend ship is too precious to risk the stress of serious coaching. Too overwhelming, too whirling, too time consuming. Suggestion: (1)a digital kitchen timer (2)How many minutes can you stand doing the task (20 min my max)(3)start;at end stop even if not finished (4)do something else for a minute (5) set timer again. Use tunnel vision on each segment. I wish book addressed these sorts of helps.
