Well, this was my first big concert and 20 years on I still remember the excitement. 7th Son of a 7th son was perhaps a peak before things became a little shaky in the 90's. I was a VHS owner of this concert and used to enjoy watching myself on TV jumping up and down to Heaven Can Wait, am so pleased they have released this on DVD.
One always expects a lot from a Maiden Show, with me it was after watching the Live after Death VHS back in 1986, that show was phenomenal and I was please that 2 tours later the magic was still in force.
Moonchild was a blast of an opening carried forth with the harmonious evil that men do. The 7th Son songs were received well as well as the old classics and at the time the more contemporary Wasted Years and Heaven can wait which flowed with ambience as the crew joined the band on the stage for the whoa oh oh bit!
This is Maiden at their best for me but perhaps a biased opinion fuelled by getting to see such an awesome performance while I was still a school kid. Thanks to my friend Nic's dad for driving us all the way to the NEC.
