Let's be honest, this is not a good movie. It does capture the spirit of the original and the neo-fascist future government allows for the usual Veehoeven humour BUT... clearly the budget was tiny and Van Dien, Blalock and Donohoe must have sucked up most of the cash and they must also really need the money.
We had some gratuitous nudity, plenty of blood and guts and rolling heads. We had the usual TV newscast 'would you like to see/know/buy (lol !) more' but the animation was poor and the sub-plot of the Sky Marshall (also celebrity singer) being controlled by the bugs didn't really work.
SO.... I was hoping the Marauders would salvage the show. Sadly not. They appear too late, are on screen for a few minutes AND, of course, they are poorly animated. Shame.. the Marauders are a great idea and much more in keeping with the original book (Mobile Infantry ALL wore powered, heavily armed suits).
In summary, ST3 is on the right track, funny and gory but let down by a tiny budget, poor animation and some ropey acting.

Roll on ST4.

I actually really liked this film. OK it wasnt as good as the first one which most people agree was an excellent film. However i thought it carried on well from the first movie as this was the real sequel to the first movie. the graphics do look quite dated in parts and the acting is a little silly but i think this is what the starship trooper franchise is all about. It doesnt take itself too seriously. If this film would have had a bigger budget it could of been an excellent film but even though it didnt its still a good film and a very worthy sequel.

ok, so here is what i think...

yes this is not the most AMAZING SST film that they have made, the first one is totally dominant over MANY films in my eyes and i NEVER get bored of it. I am a SST fanatic, iv seen the tv series (Starship Troopers: Roughnecks) and thought that was just as good as the first film, iv read the book and i have seen the 2nd of the 3 SST films... yes the second as most people agree, was not starship troopers, it lacked the quality, however, it was still a reasonable film but not classed as a SST in my eyes. Now the third film... i saw the trailer and thought to myself "this is going to be RUBBISH!" well, it is better than it looked, i enjoyed the film (minus the TERRIBLE acting and the low budget, which they should have waited upon and not rushed it) and then another thing i disliked was the "marauder" in the title... they are HARDLY in the film, why call it Marauders when they are seen on average of 5 minutes maximum a time?... i am quite dissapointed yet still enjoyed the movie

do not expect the 1st...or 2nd.

It's okay. It has a bit of a twist. The scenary works and some of the action is fine. I think too much was spent on the fed propaganda. They could of reduced them and pushed up the budget on effects in the main story.

Storywise it's okay but has the director suddenly got religious?

I loved the first film. This could have been almost as good!
