loved this dvd can't wait for series two. Gascoine, Wright and Mackenzie are very likeable characters and i think blend in nicely with Duncan, Dick and Sir Geoffrey ( i liked these three characters immensely)

Doctor's Duncan Waring and Stuart-Clark having recently returned from their crazy voyage aboard the SS Burgeonia establish themselves back at St Swithins under the watchful eye of Sir Professor Geoffrey Loftus who tries to curb them away from every disasterous situation possible.
Gone are all the old supporting characters like Collier and Bingham(both actors having moved onto other projects) having being replaced by the likeable new and varied characters Gascoigne,Wright and Mackenzie.
Dr Gascoigne is your typical toffie nosed do-gooder if not crawler(similar to Bingham but not as bad),emancipated straight laced Dr Wright whom, much to the annoyance of Stuart-Clark, is his boss and finally Dr Mackenzie proud of his scottish heritage being the most interesting and amusing of the newcomers.
The series albiet on the gradual decline still whips up some clever and interesting comedic situations dosed with farce and sometimes sprinkled with moments of true pathos such as in Episode 3 with 'Its the thought that counts' as staff decide to buy a gift celebrating Sir Geoffrey's 20th Anniversary as Professor of Surgery at St Swithins heralding some touching if not hilarious moments.
