WERE THE HELL IS TOM HOLLAND?
Review date: 2008-09-23 Rating: 2 out of 10
What a wasted opportunity. It took them 20 years to come up with this.
The film itself is a classic and will always be. But the so called Special edition is just a waste of time.
SPECAIL FEATURES:
Audio commentary from Alex Vincent, Catherine Hicks and Kevin Yagher.
First this is probably the only reason to buy this film, apart from the film itself, as they do, between them, give you some insight into the film, and how it was made. But as you listen it is clear that Alex Vincent was recorded seperatly to the others and then edited together to form this track. Which is annoying when they repeat each other.
Audio Commentary by David Kirschner and Don Mancini.
A complete waste of time, all these two want to talk about is the other films in the series, HELLO! but if i wanted to hear about them LADS i'd have bought those films. They do give a little insight and do big up Tom Holland (I'll get back to him later) but it's all about Mancini and how I created Chucky and how my original draft was different to the final cut. No Mancini YOU created BUDDY, and it was TOM HOLLAND that created CHUCKY, and bought BRAD DOURIFF on board to do the voice, along with a team of vey talented puppeteers. So if you want to Bitch, moan and cry about it, do it on someone else's time.
Scene Specific CHUCKY Commentary.
FOUR SCENES! YES. THATS FOUR SCENES that BRAD DOURIFF has commentary on. WHY in Hell is he not allowed a full feature length commentary, as he has the best by far commentary. But not to be out done our good friend (not to the end) Mancini pops up in the final commentary track by Douriff, to add his two peneth. THANKS!
WHERE THE HELL IS THE COMMENTARY TRACK FROM TOM HOLLAND.......... YOU KNOW THE DIRECTOR AND CO WRITTER?
Evil comes in small packages.
short interviews with everyone, going over what we already know or have heard on the commentary tracks.
Chucky: Building a Nightmare, A Monster Convention, The Making of Childs Play Featurettes and the photo gallery are all just a waste of time.
Theatrical Trailer:
Is nice showing how far advertising has come in twenty years.
Basically, the two main people we want to hear from, are hardly on the DVD. BRAD gets a short commentary track and is mentioned here and there, but TOM HOLLAND is just pushed aside and forgotten about, (he appears three times in brief interviews from 1988) as should this DVD. Some birthday this turned out to be.

The first of the series. Fullscreen presentaion, but at least it's available. Nothing fancy about the DVD but what a film!
The Plot - Charles Lee Ray, a serial-killer is gunned down by a cop, just before he dies he transfers his soul into the body of a 'Good Guy' doll. Andy Barclay receives the doll as a present and then strange deaths start to occur. Andy says it's 'Chucky' his doll but no-one believes him. But it is Chucky and the doll then finds out that to escape the doll's body he must transfer his soul into the first person whom he told his true identity.
I love this entire film series, espescially Chucky himself. Saying that though Alex Vincent (who plays Andrew Barclay) puts in an impressive performance as I actually feel sorry for him. The whole cast in fact does well.
There isn't a lot of gore but the tension and suspense is great (it's sort of like 'Halloween' only with a doll!). A very funny and pretty scary film, has an immense following, join us!
Child's Play is amazing !

Child's Play is one of the best films I've ever seen.
The suspense without is unbearable and the ending makes this film worthy of classic.
A must for all horror fans !

Child's Play has to be one of my most favorite movies. It has a great blend of horror and dark humour, I can't beleive it's not been given the status of classic as it truely deserves so. Though my advice to you is to avoid the sequels except Bride of Chucky because the rest just destroy Chucky's image.
