Iron Man (PC DVD)
Really a disappointment.!! Review date: 2008-06-04 Rating: 4 out of 10 I was expecting impecible graphics, but to get these PS2 graphics really disappoints me. You cannot adjust the graphics, only the resolution and the graphics arent as you would expect, much worse. Think of a PS2 version of the game and you have the visuals of the game. Sound quality is not good, but voice acting is cool. All in all, the gameplay is alright, and i am happy i got the game for free, because i would have sold the game already. But i was totally caught off guard by the poor graphics and the laziness of Sega to make the graphics even better and using a PS2 port. ReviewsNOT the game advertised Review date: 2008-05-24 Rating: 2 out of 10 This is a bad, cheap, VERY low quality version of the advertised game for xbox and ps3. DO NOT BUY IT. Dear amazon - please be aware that this is NOT the game that is being marketed and does NOT have graphics or gameplay as advertised in the trailers. I suggest removing this product or warning that it is not actually the game people expect to buy. Iron Man PC - don't be duped! Review date: 2008-05-18 Rating: 2 out of 10 Don't bother with this at all. You've seen the nice shiny XBOX 360/PS3 versions (even on screenshots for this version) but this is a port of the Playstation 2 version. Think HalfLife 1's graphics, think poorer textures - that's this game. The PC control system states you can use a keyboard and an XBOX 360 gamepad for Windows (this was extra info included in the readme text file on the disc). Other gamepads dowork, but because there are no configuration options in the game menu, some functions are missing, that are critical to playing the game, like moving your head! You could probably fiddle and alter these settings in your gamepad's custom Windows app - but why should you need to? This is shoddy product and no doubt Sega outsourced the creation of this to the makers of the PS2 version because they knew that they didn't have any of their own developers to spare for the release deadlines, whilst they internally worked on the XBOX 360/PS3 versions. More importantly, screenshots released by Sega even gave the impression it was as good looking as on the aforementioned machines so they could successfully capture the pre-order market (I was one) before anyone realises they were duped. I feel suckered, ripped off and betrayed, you will too if you get this version. METAL FATIGUE... Review date: 2008-05-10 Rating: 4 out of 10 Superheroes make good movies but usually awful games. Someday this rule will acquire an exception. But that day is not today. IRON MAN suffers from more than the problems of a bad port. Sure, controls are awkward but one eventually gets used to them. The missions seem childish but I had no higher expectations from a game released only to ride the blockbuster movie wave. What I could not get past was how underdeveloped the graphics were! Yes, I turned all options to their highest setting. No matter, graphically the game is comparable to 5-6 year old releases! HALF LIFE2 had much better surfaces, environments and effects. The same is true for DOOM 3 and QUAKE 4. I had to go back to UNREAL 2 to find something to compare IRON MAN with - and even that 6 years old game wins hands down! The gameplay never takes off either. Flying is fun but only within the (very limited) confines of the predesigned area. All in all, IRON MAN demonstrates all the characteristics of a rush-job carried out by the developing team's bench-warmers. Only for very dedicated Iron Man fans. And even then, a masochistic streak is required...
