Amazon.co.uk Review

Not even the awesome power of The Incredible Hulk could prevent the 1980 Writers Guild strike from delaying the debut of its fourth season, or from reducing the number of episodes in the season from 23 to 18, but fans still found enough excitement and drama in the lonely adventures of Dr. David Banner (Bill Bixby) and his powerful, green-skinned alter ego (Lou Ferrigno). It's unfortunate that the fourth season wasn't allowed to air its complete run of episodes, since the ones that were broadcast were among the series' best. Season opener "Prometheus" finds Banner stuck in mid-transformation after encountering a meteor, while "The First" introduces him to another individual who has his own Hulk-like side.

The fourth season also shows the program's writing and production staff continuing to deliver fresh takes on Banner's dilemma; in "Deep Shock," he develops the ability to see into the future after the Hulk is electrocuted in a power plant, while "The Harder They Fall" finds Banner forced to embrace his uncontrollable side as a means of curing his paralysis after an accident. Jack Colvin's Jack McGee also gets a fine showcase in "Interview with the Hulk," and Ferrigno is featured sans makeup and wig as an aspiring bodybuilder in "King of the Beach." Unfortunately, the truncated 4th season was also the beginning of the end for the show; cost-cutting measures put a halt to the fifth season after only 7 episodes, leaving fans wanting more of the quality adventures they saw in the fourth and final full season.--Paul Gaita

Synopsis

Bill Bixby stars in this classic television series inspired by the Marvel comic book, which ran from 1978 to 1982. When withdrawn research scientist David Banner is accidentally exposed to toxic radiation, even the smallest agitation transforms him from man to monster. Bright green and enormous, the Incredible Hulk (Lou Ferrigno) crushes anyone in his path, defeating his enemies left and right. As Banner wanders the open road in search of a cure, he frequently bumps into surprising guest stars and infuriating situations. This collection presents all the episodes from the action-packed fourth series.

The incredible Hulks 4th season
Review date: 2008-07-16 Rating: 10 out of 10

Share the incredible journe6y with David Banner as he embarks on new adventures. In season 4, David has many adventures and makes many new friends. The seaosn starts off strongly with opoener 'Prometheus' sees banner captured by a top secret organisation when he becomes trapped in mid metamorphosis.

Other apisodes of worthy note are

'deep shock' in which Banner catches glimpses of the future after a being eloctrocuted.

'the harder they fall' banner is paralyzed after a freak accident. Denny miller co stars as as wheelchair bound Paul, whom the hulk saves from making a terrible mistake.

Interview with the Hulk. Much to the chagrin of McGee, reprter Emmerson fletcher steals his hulk file and finds david banner alive and well in Atlanta. He gets banners story while mcGee makes his way there to have it out.

Wonderful season of a truly special show.
