Sadistic nonsense
Review date: 2009-04-26 Rating: 4 out of 10
Some films are more deserving of the 18 cert than others, and this certainly goes beyond the boundaries of most 18 cert films. In my opinion there ought to be another classification for this sort of film to set it apart from the other milder cert 18 films. There is no plot. Supposedly it is "based on a true story." No explanation of that is given and I find it hard to believe. It is graphic, mindless violence and contains sickening torture scenes. Some very disturbing scenes, the end is both shocking and very disappointing. You want so much for the woman to get away and find her daughter and then when it all comes to an end it is an anti-climax. She had plenty of opportunities to kill the man. Another problem I had with this film is the horrific injuries this woman and others suffer. Surely they would've bled to death or gone into shock. Pain is enough to kill some people. I am concerned about the mentality of the writers and the producers who make this sort of film. There is nothing enjoyable about it, unless you are a fan of this type of violence/torture film. I only watched to the end because I hoped for a satisfying ending. It wasn't delivered.
I would say don't buy it. It is not worthwhile to add to your collection.

Poverty production
Review date: 2009-03-03 Rating: 2 out of 10
A mess. Late entry in the dull torture for fun horror market that drags for 90mins of mud, poor acting and boredom. The people behind this really shouldn't get near a camera again. More student level rubbish that fills the DVD racks today and is destined for landfill tomorrow.
Horrid.

This film is truely awful. Terrible acting. Terrible story. Terrible.
Man abducts woman. Woman tries to escape. Man hurts woman. Woman kills man. Woman finds what she was looking for and gets hurt. The end.
That is about the absolute of this film.
Don't waste your money or your time.
Well worth seeing!

This is a surprisingly good horror movie with several extremely gory scenes but also very decent acting (for a horror movie at least!) and a story line that makes sense and is quite believable. There are a few occasions where it gets a bit slow as we witness some character development. All in all, a solid mix of a psychological horror/thriller with a few very gory and memorable scenes. I've seen pretty much every horror movie out there and this was one that stayed in memory for a long time. Well worth watching!
Good Brit Horror
Review date: 2008-08-24 Rating: 8 out of 10
Don't quite understand the 5 and 1 star reviews - it's neither a classic horror film nor a stinker.
Many low budget horror films stink - this doesn't. The acting's descent - the plot good - the atmosphere eery, though obviously done on the cheap.
Good ending as well - just when you think you're going to get a happy ending - you don't.
