Horror Express [1972]
ReviewsBritish Horror Classic Review date: 2007-03-01 Rating: 10 out of 10 Starring Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing and set on a train rolling through China and Russia in 1906, The Horror Express has the gothic tones of Hammer. Scientist Peter Cushing discovers a fossilised primitive man in the frozen wastes of Manchuria. He transports the find back to Europe on an express train, but there is an alien creature inside the fossil and as it thaws out trouble starts as he begins his killing spree leaving the victims with their eyes gorged out and their memories sucked out of them. The inspector and his force believe the monster is caught and killed, but has the creature secretly possessed another Human?.... The over-the-top performance of Telly Savalas also has a lot to do with the film's reputation as a cult favorite. Savalas performed the role using grand gestures and a speaking voice similar to his characterization of Kojak, despite the fact that his character was supposed to be a Russian Cossack. Horror Express was filmed mostly without sound, with effects and voices dubbed into the film later. Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing and Telly Savalas all provided their own voices for the English market One of the greatest horror movies of all time Review date: 2006-11-18 Rating: 10 out of 10 This is one of the greatest horror movies of all time. The plot and the suspense are fantastic. Christopher Lee and peter cushing are great as always and i just wish a special edition to be released soon. Until then enjoy this movie which is really frightening and enjoyable.
