Refreshing Regenesis
Review date: 2008-05-24 Rating: 10 out of 10

I love this series. An investigative biotech company as a premise is refreshing. I don't know about the science - to be honest as knog as not utterly ludicrous I don't much care - it's fiction based in the future so I don't feel it needs to stand up to close scrutiny - as long as it doesn't ruin the drama by being too far fetched.

The story lines are great - and manage to put the characters in diffrent environments without implausible twists and devices being used.

I love the characters - Bob is my favourite, a great portayal and a lovable guy. Davids character is a littly unoriginal I suppose, the constant sex and the gruff genuis who can't quite do reltaionships either intimately or with his daughter. But I like him. There's enough to him, his interactions with the others, good dynamics between all the characters and personal stories to make this unimportant.

THe personal stories become more developed in series two, but the dramas and problems which need solving don't become weaker - in fact I think the series gets stronger. There is just the right amount of sentiment - I often find the American dramas are over sentimental; and I find that syrupy and off putting, but this gets the measure right-hoorah for the Canadians!

The show employs some great devices- particularly the rewind to show what was happening simultaneously for another character. I really like this as it give some balance rather than being all from one persons viewpoint at a time. Somehow it just opens uo the 'realness' by reminding us thatj ust because twe are following one character the world hasn't stopped for the others. This adds a great dimension.

A brilliant show; engaging, touching, humourous, intelligent, intriguing.
Well worth watching - give it a shot.

The X Files meet CSI
Review date: 2008-05-16 Rating: 10 out of 10

Yes I fully agree that Regenesis Season 1 was let down with the lack of Subtitles as there was many times I wanted to double check a Scientific procedure.

I also bought this without ever seeing it on TV and really once you get into it - its very interesting.

Season 2 can be found at www.amazon.fr with the ASIN: B000LXS8FK
Season 2 can be found at www.amazon.de with the ASIN: B0014BO6T0

So its bound to get to us at some time in the future.

So far they have made four Seasons so really it would be plain daft
if they don't release them on dvd.

Good at the right price
Review date: 2008-05-06 Rating: 8 out of 10

I got this boxed set at a good price and enjoyed the series because of it's quirkiness. The casting of the main character is intriguing as he looks like David Bowie! I was waiting for the show to really kick into gear with a major viral outbreak of some kind and although I don't want to spoil your viewing I can at least say the global pandemic doesn't appear, yet. If season two appears at the right price I may buy it but as many of us will agree most boxed sets are over priced.

Worth a watch although not a slick as some of the American offerings.

Where are the subtitles?
Review date: 2008-05-02 Rating: 8 out of 10

I'd give it five stars if it had subtitles! the accents can be hard to follow at times if your hearing isnt 100% like mine.

Not a bad effort
Review date: 2008-04-16 Rating: 8 out of 10

This was good. I liked the main characters, the relationship between the daughter and the clone boy was a bit boring but in the main it was engaging.
