Well I liked it...

This is survival horror in the truest sense of the word! No weapons, no handy life bar just panic and fear.

Not one for action fans but for those who liked Silent Hill over Resi, this game is definitely worth a play.

It's not pretty but if you're playing survival horror do you really want shiny graphics?! Also remember this is an old game so we have to be generous. The soundtrack is ok and does the job but isn't as mind gratingly scary as Silent Hill.

Some players have described the plot as Japanese madness but that's unfair. If you've ever read HP Lovecraft than the plot makes perfect sense. The best part of the game (aside from the nerve shredding tension) is the fact that your choice of partner has an impact on your game. It's not noticeable immediately but as you progress through the game, your choice will reveal or even change the story.

Look for it cheap and it will rob your life for a few hours and make you hyper aware of the sound of breathing (especially at night)...

Not for the fussy gamers

This is an interesting title, think of it as an independent title as opposed to mainstream say pop music if you forgive the analogy!

You can say it looks dated, but i found that the most important thing of all, gameplay, was certainly here. It is repetitive i have to say, running down corridors a lot, but what made it for me was the constant feeling of being stalked. Similar to the nemesis in Resident Evil 3, but less warnings given.

One time i was running past some stairs and the monster appeared from them and i swear it must have been the biggest fright i have ever got in any game, damn near heart attack.

So it is not action oriented, simply running for your life which i found original. I didnt find out how the people you meet help you fight the monster, but they do help you avoid it! You donit fight the monster, you run like hell, and talk to people and solve basic puzzles to get out alive!

i liked the sound and the gloomy "i am trapped underground being chased by a nasty monster" atmosphere, and the story was quite interesting. It gets really strange and otherworldly towards the end, and this is great.

Must say i didnt quite understand the actual ending but there you go!

lights out, sound up and the heart will be pumping! I was afraid to turn this on sometimes.

not a bad game really
