ANGELS OF DARKNESS
Review date: 2008-11-28 Rating: 10 out of 10

Angels of darkness!.....Well what can I say, intriguing from the very start, I just love 40k, pure escapism of the highest order! This book didn't disapoint, I Knew I was reading a good-un from the start but when my missus walked in on me reading one night and just laughed, she said "it must be good cos your face is a picture!" I knew for sure it was. If like me you love the whole 40000 thing (if you havn't tried it then do!) then read and enjoy, the deeper I can get into this 40000 universe the better, and this book helps me do that. READ IT!

Must own Chapter history
Review date: 2008-09-16 Rating: 8 out of 10

If you love the 40K universe then this is going to be a must own book especially if you're a Dark Angel champion on the battlefield. Written from two different points in time it allows the reader to understand the chapter in greater detail and is something that will keep you glued to the last page. Addictive, intriguing and above all a book that will be reread more than once and its all the key ingredients that make this a must own.

A gripping tale of the ages
Review date: 2008-08-15 Rating: 10 out of 10

I am glad a new edition has been released. I was very much disappointed after reading 'Descent of Angels' which seemed to promise answers to many of the questions about the Dark Angels history and origins, only to deliver very little in what was a very 'teen reading' novel... 'Angels of Darkness' puts all that right.

The story is a good blend of action and intrigue with the main characters being quite well fleshed out, even for space marines... the story flows well and I felt like I really wanted to get back to it. There a couple of real revelations and uncomfortable truths.. especially if you, like I am, are a fan of the Dark Angels you might find yourself also questioning your loyalty...

Thrilling
Review date: 2003-11-07 Rating: 10 out of 10

This book is a must have for anyone who likes the story part of Warhammer 40K. It's a tale of an Interrogator-Chaplain from the Dark Angels chapter named Boreas, while trying not to give too much away obviously it starts with his first interrogation a Fallen by the name of Astelan.

The book is split into 2 different time periods which are obviously connected but it doesn't become apparent until midway through.

Also it has a major plot twist which affects not only the book but the entire history of 40K. This is the main reason why i believe it is a must buy for anyone interested in the story line to the game. If you aren't then this book is still a great read i couldn't put it down so get it ordered.

Very, very informing
Review date: 2003-02-28 Rating: 8 out of 10

The book centres on a Dark Angels Interrogator Chaplain who doubts his faith in his chapter. After discovering the presence of "The Fallen" in the system he is posted in, he immediately launches a crusade to bring them to justice. Over the course of the book we are taken back to one of the Chaplains early interrogations, a man who was a previous Chapter commander during the Great Crusade. Here he divulges why it was he who started the civil war in the Dark Angels ranks, but not because he was disloyal, but because Lion El'Johnson, the Dark Angels Primarch, harbored a dark flaw that would bring his chapter to damnation. The book flicks back and forth in time, following the interrogation of the chapter commander as it proceeded and the crusade to hunt "The Fallen". Over the course of the book we find out the "truth" behind the Dark Angels long harbored secret.

A must have book for any follower of the Dark Angels, Space Marines, or anyone else interested in the history of the Warhammer 40,000 Universe. A thoughrally entertaining and informing book. Stun your friends with your new found information about the Dark Angels, or just satisfy your own curiosity.
