The new Beginning
Review date: 2007-06-01 Rating: 10 out of 10

For the serious student this book is more than just a leasurely read. This is not just bedtime reading. This is part of a journey. It is the elements of a new life! I started doing the Middle Pillar meditations and feel the changes taking place in my life. I also bought the CD's with him giving guided exercises in breathing, the Middle Pillar and other exercises. It is awesome.

Studying the Mysteries is a journeyand should be treated as such. This book is a valued item in my library.

Expect to have your horizons broadened and your old wineskins changed! It is powerful and transforming.

Two works presented as one.
Review date: 2000-06-10 Rating: 10 out of 10

Regardie's text is a classic and a must have. This is the only current printing of it that I'm aware of.

The Cicero's texts are attempts to assist and elucidate areas for those without a developed understanding of the area of work.

Both have their potential uses but for me Regardie's writing stands head and shoulders above the more modern texts.

Perhaps that expresses my biases and current needs more than anything else. I would recommend however that the book be read and considered as two clearly seperate pieces. May they assist.

A new and improved edition of a classic!
Review date: 1999-06-10 Rating: 10 out of 10

This is an excellent book. The Cicero's have made Regardie's classic text even better by expanding on every point made by Regardie in the original. They have added extensive footnotes, several rituals, exercises and meditations, and a comprehensive glossary of psychological and magical terms that makes this book twice as valuable to magicians of the 21st century. I can't help but agree with Golden Dawn Historian R. A. Gilbert's assessment of the Ciceros and their work which is printed on the back cover of THE MIDDLE PILLAR. This book is essential reading for anyone interested in Magick and the Kabbalah.

The reprint is a hack work!

Forget this version... go find the original printing, the "additional material" is disctracting, and takes away from Regardie's Genius!

The original was 5 Stars... this printing... NEGATIGVE stars
