A book that should have never been done.
Review date: 2007-09-01 Rating: 2 out of 10
The original Age of Apocalypse, was probably one of the best X-men storys ever done, the whole X-men Universe was put on hiatus while it happened. Scott Lobdell masterminded a wonderful tale, that began and ended amazingly. This book if you loved the series orginally should be something to steer clear of, as it shouldn't have been written by Akira Yoshida, who clearly didn't know the characters, it wasn't entertaining reading, the are from Chris Bachealo (probably my favourite artist) was some what lacking, like he didn't care about the book. I personally wish I had never read the book and my advise would be to steer clear so it doesn't sully the memory of what was a great story.
Reviews
A classic end to a classic tale!
Review date: 2005-12-15 Rating: 8 out of 10
Practically anyone who is an X-Man fan knows of the gripping story that is the Age of Apocalypse. For all those fans who have read the tale, this is an ultimately satisfying end to it.
This book kicks off with untold AoA tales such as Sabertooth meeting Wildchild for the very first time.
The real story kicks off with the AoA surviving the nuclear holocaust, leaving Magneto and his X-Men to rebuild the foundations of trust that were shattered by Apocalypse. What follows this, are revelations, new characters (introducing the spawn of Wolverine!!!) and more deaths (you'll have to read the book to find out who).
Ultimately, this book gives perhaps one the most legendary sagas in the whole of the X-Men Universe a thrilling and captivating conclusion.
