I read this SW novel after being told it ended the zsinji saga, so when i started reading i was pretty shocked to find it was all about han copeting for leia and some force witches thrown in. The story itself is a great little miniplot in the SW galaxy to get lost in but it hardly mentions zsinji at all until the end.
Also there was quite a couple of plot fillers such as the massive armada of hapans and the archive that luke found that was only mentioned briefly. I was quite dissapointed with the very small inclusion and end of zsinji, although it was a good way for han to get him.
To conclude great little plot on dathomir but if your reading it as a follow on from the x-wing series don't expect anything special.

Courtship of Princess Leia
Review date: 2007-09-11 Rating: 6 out of 10

I nearly gave up on this novel very early on. I thought the beginning of the book set out a hard to believe plot basis regarding Leia and the Hapan. But I ploughed on and much of the rest of the book - set on Dathomir - was exciting and interesting and I was glad I hadn't given up. Many people say this is one of the best books in the series. I have to say I don't agree. The next in the series (Tatooine Ghost) is a crisper, more entertaining read in my opinion.

highly entertaining
Review date: 2006-08-31 Rating: 10 out of 10

I was a bit skeptical when i read the synopsis, however, I must admit, this is an highly entertaining book. Purists and fans of the movies would argue about how princess leia easily falls for prince Isolder's charms, however, the book backs up with a solid and believable storyline. Dave wolverton manages to balance emotion, action perfectly and manages to throw in a bit of humour as well. In that sense, this book is unique because it contains more "romance" and humour so to say, then most expanded universe novels I have read so far. All in all, this is an essential novel for your collection.

Complete trash!!
Review date: 2005-04-13 Rating: 2 out of 10

I've read most of the Starwars novels and this is one of the worst books ever written. The plot of this book is complete useless and I couldn't wait to reach the end of the book. You can quess exactly what is going to happen, and it is a boring slog from start to finish.

The idea of Han kidnapping Leia to get her to love him is dumb as she already loves him, and no one else could come between them in other novels. Another thing is the idea of a planet full of force sensitive witches and Rancors as their pets.

If I had known how boring and useless his book was I wouldn't have wasted money on it. Avoid it if you can.

Prince Isolder is sooooooo annoying
Review date: 2003-10-03 Rating: 6 out of 10

What started out as a promising book for the romantic in all Star Wars fans, rapidly degenerates as Wolverton overplays Isolder (Han's love rival).

I mean come on - his ships faster than the Falcon, his a better pilot than Han Solo, his family's armada can stand toe to toe with a fleet of Star Destroyers (yeah right, like the Emperor wouldnt have destroyed that system long ago) etc.

Basically, you're left with the impression that Wolverton created these characters and planetary systems in the course of running a role-playing game, and somehow thinks its an improvement on George Lucas' creation.

The book does have some redeeming moments once it gets over Wolvertons obsession with his creations and concentrates on the established characters.
