DDHE TO RELEASE CLASSIC HORROR AND SF DVDS FROM SONY LIBRARY

DD Home Entertainment (DDHE) has announced that it will be releasing a number of previously unavailable classic horror and SF film and TV titles on DVD, following a ground-breaking deal between DDHE and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment Ltd.

Under an exclusive agreement with Sony, DDHE will be releasing some highly desirable titles from Sony's huge library.

Foremost amongst these will be a special 50th Anniversary edition of the true horror classic NIGHT OF THE DEMON. Plans are unconfirmed as yet, but this release may well include the American cut of the film as well as the original British release and a number of specially commissioned features. As with many DDHE collector's releases, fans can expect a detailed behind-the-scenes booklet by film and TV historian Marcus Hearn.

Fans of Japanese film will be delighted to hear that MOTHRA has also been selected for a 2007 release.

For Hammer collectors there's the first DVD release of THE GORGON, plus CAMP ON BLOOD ISLAND, THE DAMNED, TERROR OF THE TONGS, THE STRANGLERS OF BOMBAY, TASTE OF FEAR, CREATURES THE WORLD FORGOT, NEVER TAKE SWEETS FROM A STRANGER, THE SWORD OF SHERWOOD FOREST, MANIAC, CASH ON DEMAND, DON'T PANIC CHAPS and WATCH IT SAILOR.

THE CREATURE WITH THE ATOM BRAIN, THE RUNAWAY, THE MUTATIONS, REPTILIAN, GOLIATH AWAITS, THE GAMMA PEOPLE, OMEGA DOOM, THE MIND OF MR SOAMES and A REFLECTION OF FEAR are among other horror and SF film titles scheduled for release.

SF and fantasy television series forthcoming from DDHE include the fondly remembered FANTASTIC JOURNEY and the 1990s UFO conspiracy thriller series DARK SKIES featuring a pre-Voyager Jeri Ryan.

TV Genre aficionados can look forward to, amongst other titles, Roger Moore's IVANHOE and Alan Hale's CASEY JONES, while fans of British cinema will have the likes of GUMSHOE, FATHER BROWN, BUNNY LAKE IS MISSING, GIDEON'S DAY and THE PUMPKIN EATER to add to their collections.
