Celebrate the darker side of Bollywood with a season of Bollywood Horror at the ICA including the London premiere of Zibahkhana – Hell’s Ground Pakistan’s first gore movie on 18th August. From 17 – 31 August, seven Bollyhorrors will be screened at the ICA charting the rise of the Horror genre from the south Asian movie industry.

Recently seen on the UK scifi channel, this mixed bag movie (Dead and Deader) now gets a UK dvd release on an unsuspecting public.

Dean Cain is Lt. Bobby Quinn, a Special Forces commando killed during a recon mission in the Cambodian jungle. But when Quinn interrupts his own stateside autopsy, he discovers that the rest of his dead squad has been resurrected with a ravenous appetite for human flesh. Now with the help of a wisecracking cook (Guy Torry of American History X) and a sexy film geek (Susan Ward of Wild Things 2), the part-zombie Quinn must stop the plague before it can infect the entire nation. Who holds the shocking secret behind this blood-crazed carnage? And what happens when Quinn stops gnawing on raw steak and starts chomping on the hot chick?


Roger Corman’s classic THE RAVEN Screening Next Week

A new print of Roger Corman’s classic THE RAVEN, adapted from Edgar Allen Poe’s tale, will be screened at the ICA on 8th, 10th and 11th July.

Features three giants of 20th Century horror – Vincent Price, Peter Lorre and Boris Karloff and introduces a young Jack Nicholson.

Author/critic Kim Newman will introduce the 8th July screening.

The Devil's Chair

Just a quick heads up on a new horrormovie that should hit our screens soon.

Written by Simon Boyes and Co written / directed by Adam Mason The Devil's Chair tells the story of "A psychology teacher takes a group of students to an abandoned asylum where they become the victims of their own experiment."

DDHE TO RELEASE CLASSIC HORROR AND SF DVDS FROM SONY LIBRARY

DD Home Entertainment (DDHE) has announced that it will be releasing a number of previously unavailable classic horror and SF film and TV titles on DVD, following a ground-breaking deal between DDHE and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment Ltd.

Under an exclusive agreement with Sony, DDHE will be releasing some highly desirable titles from Sony's huge library.

Foremost amongst these will be a special 50th Anniversary edition of the true horror classic NIGHT OF THE DEMON. Plans are unconfirmed as yet, but this release may well include the American cut of the film as well as the original British release and a number of specially commissioned features. As with many DDHE collector's releases, fans can expect a detailed behind-the-scenes booklet by film and TV historian Marcus Hearn.

BrokenOk - So I have mentioned the Adam Mason / Simon Boyes indie horror flick Broken (nee Hearteater) many times. I have an interest in this as anyone who has seen this award wining horror film at any of the film festivals may have seen my name pop up on the credits at the end.
